Top Jobs For Students in Leeds 2012
If you're looking for student jobs Leeds has more bars and clubs than you can shake a stick at! Why not combine your bar skills with your music taste when choosing bar work in Leeds? In venues like TigerTiger and Oceana you can boogie as you clear glasses and pull pints, if club classics and party anthems are your thing. If not, Hifi and Cockpit are two of the best anti-cheese clubs in Leeds, specialising only in cool- work a long shift and dance your way through it!

Hours in a shop can be really flexible -- great student job if you don't like to work late. Leeds is one of the best places in the country for shopping, so pick your favourite shops to apply for, and hopefully get some staff discount! Shop work is also great if you want to specifically work weekends, allowing you to 'study' during the week... yeh right! The St Johns Centre has loads of student friendly shops like Jumbo Records and Poundland, whereas the Victoria Quarter has been nicknamed the 'Knightsbridge of the North' with fancy shops and boutiquey places such as Diesel and Karen Millen.

Forget that expensive gym membership, if you're looking for student jobs Leeds has a variety of restaurants and that's the best way to keep fit as a student! Its not for the faint of heart or couch potatoes; on your feet for hours at a time can be tiring, but you're being paid for it so who cares? The money is generally good, but your real earner is with tips, so remember to smile through that hangover! Chain restaurants like Nandos and Wagamama are good places to work: if you can afford to eat there you can afford to tip well!

The Student's Union of any Leeds University is such a great place to work if you want to be close to where you live and are not fussy about what you do. The Leeds University Union (LUU) always looks for new people to fill their staff gap from the massive turnover of students in and out its doors each year. Jobs can include a mixture of everything above, bar work, shop work- anything your union provides and needs maintained! So if you want to grab a few shifts here and there it's a quick and easy way to earn some cash.

OK, so its no-ones dream job, but it's surprising how jammy a call centre job can be when you're a student. All you do is sit on a chair and talk to the public; no standing on your feet for hours, and it's nice and warm! Perhaps the downsides include the slight soul destroying element after buckets of verbal abuse from angry homeowners, but generally the money is good. So if you are have the gift of the gab, what student job in Leeds could be more up your street?! Leeds has loads of call centres that especially seek to recruit students, so what are you waiting for?

International Shipping - Making Trade in the 'Global Village' Possible A lot has been said and done about creating a global village where people can exchange goods and services without the limitations posed by geographical boundaries. Although the concept is great, making it possible involves a number of aspects. International shipping is one of them. It provides platform for people to trade, move or gift things across the globe, thus providing a strong backbone to the concept of global village. Shipping or logistics, as it is otherwise known, is a very complex operation that flourishes only when the process is carried out with a lot of responsibility and efficiency. There are two things that people look for when they choose an international shipping company - transporting goods safely and doing it on time. Cost, in fact, is not the first priority because safety of the goods and timely delivery take precedence. It really depends on the efficiency of the logistics company to ensure that customers are satisfied. Another important factor that people look for in a shipping company is the reliability quotient, which strengthens over time. In addition to the normal charges that are levied on shipping of goods, an efficient logistics company can reduce the costs incurred by adopting certain methods such as consolidation of cargo by means of packing, bracing, securing, locking and plat forming, depending on the shipment size. Insurance is important for all international shipping operations. It goes a long way in building trust in customers. Besides, a number of things can go wrong when goods are shipped across long distances. Insurance during transport covers any damage caused to the goods. This is also one of the major things that customers look for and one that any international shipping company needs to provide. It is crucial for an international shipping company to abide by international freight transport norms. Every country has its own rules and regulations that need to be followed. For example, when shipping to Nigeria, custom rules of Nigeria have to be adhered to. Here, a very important aspect known as Customs Brokerage comes into the picture. This is a service offered by a logistics company that frees you of all the formalities involved in getting goods through customs. The company takes care of all the bureaucracy involved and delivers goods at your doorstep. In fact, shipping a particular good to one country can cost you much more than delivering the same good to another country even when there is not much difference in terms of distance, due to the custom charges of the destination country. Shipping to Cameroon might be more expensive than shipping to its neighboring country. Besides this, the charges of international shipping depend on type of goods transported, its weight, volume and size. A good international shipping company needs to make these norms clear to its customers. Other important services that a good international shipping company provides are doorstep pickup and delivery, regular tracking of the goods in transit, warehousing, a choice of containers and expert packaging. With such efficient comprehensive services, transporting goods across the global village can definitely be stress-free. Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/6818876

Village girls cooking-This is village fact

Pinecrest Real Estate - Upscale Village Pinecrest forms one of quieter and tranquil corners in the state of Florida. Besides it can be considered as one of the newest entrants in list of cities in America as it was incorporated a decade back in 1996. In fact the quiet nature of the area has led to its seal bearing "village" as part of name of this place. And the fact that this place is governed by a Village Council comprising of five members and all matters of this place are by this group of members who constitute a government fashioned after form of Council Manager. As such, origins of Pinecrest can be credited to Parrot Jungle and Gardens, which came up in 1936, which was founded by Louise and Franz Scherr. It was their dream of creating an area where birds could fly about freely in a manner chosen by birds themselves led to this park being founded. And building of this park, which became a very important tourist attraction right from its inception, brought about first a flurry of development in this place, which was till then just another sleepy little hamlet. As large numbers of tourists came to visit this park, infrastructure of this place developed gradually. Speaking in geographical terms, Village of Pinecrest is one of the smallest incorporated areas in America. It barely covers an area of about eight square miles. But despite its size, after inception of Parrot Park, which has since then been bought over and revamped, relocated and renamed as Parrot Jungle Island, this place has seen a steady spurt in population. The original park which played host to many birds has been shifted to a new location near waterfront of this place. When the last census took place in 2000, population of this quaint place was almost touching the twenty thousand mark. This gives this place an incredible population density of almost two thousand six hundred people per square mile. This shows that this city has risen a lot in importance in America. And approximately twenty thousand people who were found to be residents of this place are further divided into almost six and a half thousand households. Median income of each of the above mentioned household hovers around hundred and ten thousand dollar mark. Education is given much priority in this state. This is evident from the fact that there a number of top notch high quality schools in this area. As a result of excellent infrastructure that is to be found in this area, more and more people are targeting this place as a city or town of permanent residence. As it is due to holistic combination of several factors, which includes the general upswing observed in real estate market, prices of homes in this region has crept up to almost two million dollars per home. And besides not too many of this homes are empty and available in the market. So do not ignore Pinecrest as just another young and small town if you are using your radar to scan out all options in matters of real estate. It just might be the changing point of your life. Pinecrest Real Estate is elegant and upscale. Right now there are over 200 properties for sale in Pinecrest. Upscale communities are Village Grove, Suniland Estates, Pine Tree Estates, Fairmont Acres to name a few. Prices have risen dramatically in the recent boom years but have been leveling off in this buyer's market. Pinecrest Real Estate still offers a tremendous opportunity. One of the things the iPod touch is known for, however, is its ability to run some pretty intensive games, especially for being an MP3 player. Most MP3 players and phones up until recently had very simple apps on them, typically ones that required few button presses, such as card, strategy, and very simple action games. The touch screen interface and speedy processor of this version of the iPod, however, changed mobile gaming forever. It has the capability to run very graphically demanding, complex applications that other mobile devices couldn't even begin to touch. What kind of games are available for the iPod Touch? Guide On How To Install Applications On Android Phones
Apps are mostly free and can be found on open source, for example Google's OS Android has a great deal of application developers. In reality, anyone with programming expertise and inquisitiveness can start to develop different applications. This significantly generates thousands of applications that can be accessed in the Android market, and daily they are ever-increasing.

What sort of applications can you find in the Android Market?

At the Android market, you'll find all kinds of apps which include: free apps and paid apps. And the paid apps are generally reasonably priced.

How can you download applications?

To download applications users have to do it from their end. Users will only have to tap on the Google's Android Market icon application on the display screen of their Android phones or tablets.

Once you gain access in the Market, one can utilize the search engine or surf different sections to locate the type of application or a specific name of application they'd like downloaded.

Although Google won't monitor users who upload or download applications since numerous apps are being uploaded daily hence you may stumble upon a few applications that are of either low quality or carry bugs. To clean out such apps from the Android store, Google has implemented a grading scheme, meaning if an application has received more stars the superior it is. Besides, users can also leave remarks on the application.

The cost

Just as highlighted, users won't find all applications on the market offered for free. The price is normally displayed according to the currency of the developer or the supplier. Actually before clicking on the payment button, you will be prompted with an estimated conversion to your country's currency.

After the application is selected, just click on the Install button if it's for free, or Buy now button and pay equally.

As you open the Android Market, you see the section of My Downloads. From here is where you'll be able to manage installed apps, but if you find the ones the don't meet your expectations; just uninstall by a "click".

Android app developer

As we've illustrated, anybody with least knowledge can actually develop applications for Google's OS. But to program applications, one would need familiarity of Java and object-oriented encoding.

Android developers can actually download all the necessary tools needed directly from Google's site. Basically, developers will require the Android SDK plus all crucial libraries and emulator.

The apps development setting is incorporated into a free platform Eclipse. Which if you have your application ready, you can upload directly into Android Market.

But according to the current survey, about 60 percent app developers don't get back their invested money. Thus, if you are seeking to outsource an Android app development then you must ensure that it's worth the investment. Besides, if your application does not conform to Google's guidelines then it also lead to rejection during the endorsement process.

The Most Luxurious Boats You (Probably) Can't Afford

Descriptions of the five most luxurious yachts in the world

1. The Eclipse Yacht - The owner of the Eclipse Yacht is Roman Abramovich, a Russian aristocrat. The yacht is approximately 558 feet long and is considered to be the most expensive yacht in the world. It has been reported to cost anywhere between $540 million to $1.1 billion dollars and has exquisite features, including 24 cabins for overnight guests. Additionally, the Eclipse has two separate swimming pools and even a mini-submarine, for the very adventurous. The master suite itself measures 5000 square feet and is located on the highest point of the deck. Boredom is never an issue with the cinema, private garden and library. To keep the family safe while sailing the open seas, the Eclipse is designed to be completely bullet proof.

2. 'A' Superyacht - This yacht is also owned by a Russian aristocrat, Andrey Melnichenko. The cost is rumored to be approximately $323 billion dollars and it measures approximately 390 feet in length. One of the most impressive features of this yacht is the private deck, which measures 80 feet long; designed for the owner's wife who adores sunbathing. The yacht also has a helipad for guests who wish to arrive in style. Inside the master suite and bathroom are pure marble floors. The finishing touches to the A Superyacht include a private lift and staircase.

3. Platinum 525 or The Golden Star - Owned by the Sheikh Mohammed bin-Rashid Al Makhtoum of Dubai, the cost of this yacht is $300 million dollars. Measuring 531 feet, this mega yacht was originally designed in 1996; in 2001, it was purchased by the Sheikh and renamed, the Golden Star. As the name states, the yacht measures approximately 525 feet and has luxury suites for guests. It also features a squash court, health spa and swimming pool. In addition to the excellent amenities, this yacht also has a special suite for the owner and a total of five suites designated for VIPs. The additional guest rooms can accommodate up to 12 comfortably.

4. Pelorus Yacht - Also owned by Roman Abramovich, this $300 million dollar yacht is considered to be a casual luxury, compared to the Eclipse. However, it is still quite outstanding, measuring 377 feet in length. Included in the superb features are the jet skis, swimming pools, conference rooms and 18 suites for overnight guests. The yacht can accommodate a total of 58 people comfortably. As a security measure, the Pelorus comes equipped with a very unique feature, a missile-detecting system and a mini-submarine for speedy escapes.

5. Dilbari Yacht - The Dilbari is owned by Alisher Usmanov, a Russian businessman. Measuring 361 feet in length, the cost is approximately $256 million dollars. Luxuries include swimming pools and a helipad. The 12 guest rooms are filled with spectacular amenities and extraordinary decor. In total, there are five decks so everyone on board can experience a level of privacy if they want to step away from the entertainment and seek a little peace and quiet.

Available rental options

Each of these tremendous works of art can be rented for day excursions or longer periods. But, be prepared to spend a pretty penny for the privilege. For example, the Eclipse can cost approximately $2 million dollars to rent for a week.

Other yachts, like the Platinum 525 or the Pelorus are a bit less expensive, averaging approximately $500,000 to $1 million per week.

The majority of the people who exercise these options consist of celebrities. In fact, when they vacation in places like the Caribbean or the South of France, they often rent super yachts like these to ensure their privacy and to keep the Paparazzi away.

Over the past few years, renting super yachts has become much more popular with celebrities because of the intimate settings and extreme luxury. They also provide the same accommodations as most 5-star hotels, without the intrusions.

Fruits of Bangladesh - Some Fresh Fruits

Mighty Foreign Fruits

The best part of traveling is checking out the foods you cannot get at home. Even if some exotic fruits smell or look strange, these divine delicacies are nutrient rich and may even have medicinal properties.

Rambutan - Native to Malay Archipelago, Southeast Asia
This fuzzy hairy looking thing looks more like a sea urchin than a fruit. Sweet, tangy and grape like in taste, it is a great source of vitamin C which is a key antioxidant helping to protect the body from free radical damage. Provides trace minerals such as copper which is needed for production of healthy red and white blood cells, along with manganese, which help enzymes function in the body. Found to have an antimicrobial effect which is useful in fighting infections.

Lychee - Native to southern China
Tastes like a combination of a pear and grape. Lychee has more vitamin C than oranges and more beta carotene than carrots. Working as an excellent digestive, it is a great fruit to eat after a big meal. Helps increase absorption of many fat-soluble vitamins. May prevent blood clots which benefits heart and stroke patients.

Mangosteen - Native to Sunda Islands and the Moluccas of Indonesia
Think citrus fuses with peach when it comes to the mangosteen flavor. Deemed the "Queen of Fruits", mangosteen is such a powerful antioxidant that it is claimed to have anti-aging, anti-inflammatory and immune boosting activity. Since the purplish skin contains an abundance of antioxidants but is inedible, mangosteen is often formulated as a juice so it can blend the bitter healthy skin with the sweeter fruit.

Durian - Native to Brunei, Malaysia and Indonesia
Custardy in texture, durian is described as tasting like white chocolate with a hint of onion. Nicknamed the "King of Fruits," durian is an acquired taste which some will despise while others may relish. Because it smells like unwashed gym socks, durian is banned in hotels due to its offensive odor. Like a banana, durian is full of carbohydrates and potassium which provide the body with energy. It is rich in dietary fiber, making it a good colon detoxifier. A rare feature among fruits, durian is an excellent source of vitamin B-complex. Also contains high levels of tryptophan which is also known as nature's sleeping pill. Good source of vitamin C. High in cholesterol-free fat so may help underweight people.

Dragon Fruit - Native to Mexico and South and Central America
This low-calorie fruit resembles the flavor of melon and kiwi. Look out for the name pitaya because it is the same. Has a high amount of antioxidants and vitamin C. Eaten on a regular basis, its high fiber content may contribute to weight loss and promote regularity. May lower blood glucose levels helping those with type 2 diabetes.

Kumquat - Native to China
Sweet on the outside and sour in the middle, kumquats are dubbed the "little gems of the citrus family". However unlike other citrus fruits, do not even think about peeling the skin as it is sweet and is bursting with limonoids which are powerful anti-cancer compounds. Used as a remedy for sore throats when boiled.

Jackfruit - Native to southwestern India, Bangladesh, Philippines and Sri Lanka
Tasting like a blend of pineapple and banana, jackfruit is the largest fruit growing on trees in the world. Has anti-cancer, anti-ulcer and anti-aging phytonutrients, while also providing an excellent dose of vitamin C and potassium. Extract of jackfruit root has been found to be beneficial for those suffering from asthma and skin problems and may even help cure diarrhea and fever.

Bangladeshi Women Workers working hard!!

Bangladeshi Women Workers working hard!!

For most racers, Saturday-night short track racing is a trial-and-trial error sport. Most racers lack big-time budgets and free time during the week to test new ideas. So knowledge generally come from two sources: advice from more experience racers and trying new things out for yourself on race night. If you are lucky, you can confirm whether or not a new setup works during the limited practice you get before qualifying. But then you just cannot be sure until you test that setup in the heat of the competition.

Like testing, many drivers learn how to drive a race car by simply going out and doing it. Driving a race car is a technique which only you the driver has to develop on their own. If you have a good night, take what you've learned from that event and try to duplicate it in the next week. But mistakes can be very costly. A mistake on the track can mean bent sheetmetal, broken parts, tempers flaring, hurt feelings, and spending late hours in the shop with possibilities of not making it to the track the next week. That's why its much easier to to avoid bad driving habits before they begin. After all, learning from you mistakes on the track may sound like a good theory, but it's not the best idea when those mistakes can cost you cold, hard cash.

In order to avoid mistakes on the track, pay close attention to what's happening in front of you and behind you at all times. Do not take risky chances. Races are never won on the first lap. In order to earn respect from more experienced drivers, you show respect. Always drive other drivers the way you want to be driven. Remember, racing is an expensive sport.

You must always drive your line and your line only

The biggest thing I try not to do is following the guy in front of me. In other words, when you chase the car in front of you and do what he's doing, you are going to make the same mistakes as he does. This may sound like a pretty simple thing not to do, but it's easier fall into this habit than you might think. When you're following a car you're always looking a way to get around him, and it's easy to start driving the same line as he is. In order for you to get around him, you must change your driving line to confuse him and get around him. So try a different line, change your apex, or do something to make him make the mistake, then take advantage of it.

Along those same lines, I think a lot of racers stick with old habits for too long, and tha's because what got most of us to where we are as race car drivers is driving very, very hard. Most racers want to push their cars over the limit, and put too much motor than the car and tires can handle. People have the equipment in every series to run really hard for a few laps. But the next thing you know, the tires start to go away but the motor is still there, and suddenly everything changes with the way the car drives. In that situation you're just overdriving the car. You must set the car up to last throughout the race and not overdrive the car at the beginning. You have to find out how the car likes to be driven with a full tank of fuel, partial load of fuel, and with the fuel cell nearly empty. How you do you need to adjust your driving style when the tires are worn versus when they are brand new? Being able to do this is the difference between winning a losing.

Don't overdrive your car

It's important not to develop a habit of overdriving the race car. Overdriving means when you're pushing the car beyond it's potential. General rule it's not a good idea to be on the brakes and the gas at the same time. That rarely works out well.

When you're on the brakes and gas at the same time, that overheats the brakes quickly. It's also hard to get a car to rotate and turn if you are on the brakes. It's always best to brake before entering the turns and let the car roll. That allows the suspension to set so the car can rotate. It may feel slower, but it will turn better, be easier to drive, and overal make you faster.

Never abuse your tires

One of the biggest problems I see with inexperienced drivers is they have a tendency to hammer the gas pedal coming out of the turns. This is what separates the men from the boys. With the power available from these engines, it's easy to give the engine too much throttle and spin the tires. This is especially easy to do on short tracks, or flat tracks with tight turns. When you do that, you end up doing what we call "frying" the rear tires. This puts excessive heat into the tire, and also burns what we call the "goodie" off the tire. Your best laps are when the goodie is still on the tire.

Tires last awhile, but once you start spinning them, the maximum traction goes away pretty quickly. The tires are the first thing that takes abuse on a race car. If you can keep the momentum of the race car up through the corner and get into the throttle more smoothly, you will increase your speed. It takes alot of touch to be able to give all the throttle the car can handle without spinning the tires, but once you're able to do that, you are going to be faster for more laps.

It gets really tricky when your car starts getting loose. At this point you have less grip available and the car wants to spin out. When you are loose, it's very difficult not to spin the tires. Come into the throttle a little bit sooner and use the power of the engine to control the wheel spin. The idea is to keep the engine from blasting the tires by being even smoother on the throttle than before.

Having a spotter

Having a good spotter that will work with you is very important, especially on restarts. When everybody is lined up in one or two rows, it can be difficult to see what's going on three to five cars ahead of you. That's when you need a good spotter to let you know if the lead car is taking the green flag clean or if he's checking up at the last minute to stack up the field before he takes off. If your spotter is on his toes, he can tell you if the good lane is the outside or if you need to avoid trouble forming ahead of you.

Finally, I think one of the most important things to remember is that you have to race people the way you want to be raced. Show respect for other people and their equipment. If you don't, then that kind of stuff is going to come right back on you later. It can be difficult to see what's going on with three or five cars lined up in front of you. That's when you need a good spotter to let know what's going on in front of you and behind you. He's also you extra set of eyes so you don't have to multi-task and break concentration on what's ahead of you. If your spotter is on his toes, he inform you of your surroundings and keep you out of trouble.

International Adventure Travel By Car

Traveling the length of the African continent by car is an adventure the like of which can be life changing. If you have decided that you are going to attempt to drive from Cape Town to Cairo or vice versa, there will be a considerable amount of planning that needs to be undertaken. One of the most important issues relates to the choosing the right kind of insurance cover.

Not all insurers would entertain the idea of offering a premium to an individual who plans to take their car through some of the most harsh environments in the world. What's more, many of the countries that would be passed through are extremely dangerous due to internal conflicts. These risks are very real and an insurer would not be ignorant of the fact.

The policy that would be required should be more extensive than just covering financial outlay in relation to being in collision with other road users. It would be important, nigh essential, to take out a policy that offered protection against losses incurred as a result of a full range of somewhat unusual situations. Hijacking and animal attacks are two problems that most regular insurers would not provide coverage for, but which would be necessary if traveling across the African savanna.

To take a vehicle from one country to another requires documentation known as a Carnet de Passage, also referred to as a triptyque. A Carnet is a guarantee that when you take a vehicle into a new country, the issuing organization will pay import duty should you not take it out. Carnets can only be issued by national motoring organizations, such as the Automobile Association of South Africa, or the British RAC.

For a Carnet to be given, an insurance company must also give approval. If you are to enter an area designated as a war-zone, it is unlikely that you would be provided with approval and nor therefore a Carnet or insurance. Plan your trip accordingly.

Before you become too advanced in your planning, you should contact a number of companies that offer car insurance online to see whether your adventure will be possible. It would be incredibly frustrating to start collecting equipment, fitting out your vehicle, and applying for visas only to discover that no insurer is willing to give you the coverage that you need. Through the internet you are more likely to find a provider who will help you fulfill your dreams.

bangladeshi street kids sleeping with dog!!

Watch the situation of Bangladeshi kids child's, they sleeping here and their !!!!!!!!!!! Living Every Moment In Fear - The Beginning Today is the 25th anniversary of an event that few other people have experienced; and that is to the good, because every day of my life during the past 25 years has been filled with fear. Putting these feelings into words and the words on paper feels necessary; but the decision to submit for publication is extremely difficult and frightening. Will "they" be shocked? Will "they" publish? Do I really want them to? What will happen if they do? Will I lose readers and followers as I lost so many friends and the respect of family members so many years ago? That day started as so many other lovely Indiana spring days. I took my children to their piano lessons and used the wait time to deliver some papers to one of my Little League officers. I was the Little League president, but I didn't really need to deliver those papers...I just wanted to. I didn't yet realize why it was so important to me. After ringing the doorbell, an unknown woman answered the door. I suddenly felt violently ill. The woman I had actually expected to see eventually came to the door, invited me inside, and made introductions I never heard. My ears were ringing. My heart was pounding. Nausea was overwhelming me. What was I feeling and why? As I started the drive back to my children, I played the previous scene over and over in my head. What had just happened? Why was I reacting so severely? When the answer finally took form, I pulled my car to the side of the road. Then I cried, and cried, and cried. What I was experiencing was jealousy, but jealousy of what? What did it mean? Over the previous few weeks, I had spent a great deal of time with the woman I had gone to see because of Little League score-keeping for ball games. I had already known she was getting divorced and that the divorce had something to do with her interest in another woman. I had been surprised by her earlier revelation, but not repulsed. In fact, I started looking forward to the games we worked together. I started making excuses to see her. The recognition of the feeling I was experiencing as jealousy was too much to accept. How could I possibly be jealous of the affections of a woman? As a woman myself, I couldn't be jealous of another woman unless...unless I...unless I was "one of those" people. When I was young, my mother had often pointed out "those" people (always men) and told me they would go to HELL! My little brother was not allowed in a public restroom because there might be one of "those" people waiting in there to... I was never quite sure what they would do, but I definitely got the message that "those" people did bad things and would be severely punished for eternity in HELL! How could I be one of "those" people? I was 37 years old. I had a husband. I had two children about to become teenagers. I went to church every Sunday. My grandfather was a minister. This just could not be happening! For the next few weeks, I existed in a daze. I really wasn't fully aware of what was happening around me. I cried often, lost weight rapidly, and I reflected on my past. Yes, I had been the typical tomboy. I had always hated frilly dresses and I loved climbing trees. I hated playing with dolls but loved playing basketball with the boys during recess. In junior high school, I paid little attention to either the boys or the girls, but I did have a whopping crush on my P. E. teacher. Back then, I hadn't realized it was crush (and now it seems so very stereotypical) but it was crush. In high school I had a "boyfriend" who was older, and in the military (Vietnam era); and, thus, I was SAFE in the sense that I didn't have to go on dates. I hated going on dates. During college, I dated a male friend from high school; but he didn't attend my university, so again, the amount of dating was limited. I became very close friends with a freshman who lived on my floor in the dorm where I was a Student Staff. Her name was Barbara. She intrigued me because she was so different from the average "girlie" girl, and we spent a great deal of time together. We often talked for hours. Before my junior year in college, my boyfriend asked me to marry him. I didn't really want to get married, but it was what good girls were supposed to do. My family liked him and his family liked me. So I said, "Yes." Before my senior year, we got married. I cried through my entire wedding. Now I understand what those tears were about. As time passed, I continued to do what I was supposed to do. I finished my BS in Mathematics, started a teaching career, got an MA in Psychology, and started a family--boy and a girl. Life seemed perfect. When my daughter was about four years old the thought went through my head that "someday her father is going to be very upset." I didn't have the correct words to apply, but I was recognizing in her what I didn't recognize in myself. As I looked at my past, I realized that I had always been "fascinated" by female couples that I saw at the mall, that there was a girl from high school that I thought about periodically, and that I occasionally had fleeting sexual thoughts about certain women that I always quickly "shut down." ("I wonder what it would feel like to...?" or "I wish I were a man so I could...") At the time, I truly believed all women had those thoughts. Even with all that reflection, I still could not accept myself as a...dare I say it? As a Lesbian? I needed to talk to someone who might understand my confusion. All of my friends and family members were very religious people. Indeed, every person in town fit that description. There would be no understanding from anyone there. The person who finally came to mind was Barbara. She had moved to Colorado immediately after she graduated, but because she visited her parents in Indiana and generally visited us at the same time, we had stayed close. During our college days I had always believed she was a lesbian, but we had never discussed it. I knew for sure that she had a gay brother, so I felt she would listen without telling me that I was going to HELL! I called her and asked if I could visit-saying that I needed to talk. Barbara believed that I was coming to tell her that I was getting divorced. When I finally worked up the strength to tell her why I was really there, she stood up and left the room. I didn't understand. When she finally returned, she explained that exactly the same thing was happening with her in Colorado. She had left to room to ponder why I had entered her life at that specific time and to consider telling me about her own struggles. We had both found ourselves attracted to unavailable women and wondering what to do about it. As we talked, it became clear that the lesbian label was undeniable. A new life, along with its set of fears, started for both of us. We started looking for helpful information in lesbian bookstores. I hadn't known such a thing even existed. We discussed ramifications. As teachers, we were painfully aware that if anyone found out, we would lose our jobs. I had the added complications of a husband and children. Could I continue to be married and just pretend to be heterosexual? If I decided I couldn't, would my children be taken from me? At that time, lesbians were considered unfit to raise children. I returned to Indiana with very few answers. My husband took care of first question a few days after I got home. One night, after we had gone to bed, he turned to me and said, "Are you a lesbian?" I was momentarily shocked into silence. Finally I managed a shaky "Why would you ask that?" "I found this book," he answered as he pulled out my recently purchased "Our Right To Love." I thought I had so carefully hidden this book in a cabinet he never opened. I remember looking to the sky and thinking, "Thanks for your help!" I had never lied to my husband. He was my best friend. So, I told him the truth. "That depends on your definition. If you are asking if I have had sex with a woman, the answer is no. If you are asking if I now identify myself as a lesbian-a woman who prefers the companionship of a woman-then the answer is yes." To his credit, my husband was wonderful. We talked long into the night. He understood this wasn't something he could fight. We discussed options and ramifications. I told him I felt I needed to move to Colorado Springs both to be near Barb and to get away from Indiana. He initially decided to move with us and he helped us move and get established in Colorado. In the end, he decided he couldn't stay in Colorado; but I will forever be grateful for his help and support. I still wish we could have stayed best friends as he had promised. Life in Colorado has been more difficult and frightening than I had ever imagined it could be. A bitter divorce, constant financial worries, raising 2 children without their father, building a new relationship with a woman, dealing with my partner's issues surrounding childhood abuse, teaching in the environment of fear of discovery created by Focus On The Family and Amendment 2, raising a lesbian daughter, raising a teenage son in a house full of women, learning to accept myself as a lesbian, learning how to be a lesbian, having no friends, and constantly fearing for the safety of all of us were just a few of the issues we faced; and all of this will be the material of another article. Initially, the decision to write and submit this article seemed very difficult; but when I think of the young people who get bullied at school, who question who they are, who get kicked out of their own homes, who feel there is no hope, and who think suicide is their only option, the correct decision is obvious. I will always feel so very sad for my students who obviously--to me--needed help but didn't get any from me due to my own fears. I still feel ashamed of myself for not being stronger then. I now understand that we must all FIGHT THE FEAR. We must do so for those who will follow us. Hopefully, someday, no one will need to live in fear for who they are! Am I afraid to hit the SUBMIT button? Absolutely! Barbara has watched me cry as I have been writing and mentally re-living it all. She just asked if I want to reconsider. Absolutely NOT! But when I ask myself why I haven't written this sooner, the answer is that I have been afraid. Why can I write it now? I simply must. One of the magazines I write for chose FEAR as the topic of the month...and, sadly, I have become an expert on fear!

How to Disable Timeline on Facebook

Facebook rolled out its timeline avatar last year and since then made it mandatory for all the users to switch over to it. Though timeline is designed to help you and your friends view and share your social life on one page, you may not like it. If you don't like timeline, you have the option to disable it. Here is an instructive guide for you to get rid of Facebook timeline.

Instructions:

The first thing you can keep in your mind is that the Facebook timeline does not support Internet Explorer (IE) 7 and older versions. So, if you are using any of the older IE versions, timeline will not be a problem for you. You will see the same old profile look after logging into your Facebook account. One thing for sure will happen and that is Microsoft will keep prompting you to upgrade your existing browser version to a newer one like IE 8 or so.

For other browsers like Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera, Safari etc., you can download and install F.B. Purity, a free browser extension. The extension will also work for newer IE versions. Visit the fbpurity website and download the desired edition for whichever web browser you use. When on the website, click the green Install F.B. Purity - Extension button. If your browser prevents the download, allow it to run the file.

When done, hit the Save File button to save the downloaded file to your computer. If prompted, choose a location to save the file. If not prompted, the file might get automatically saved in the Downloads folder. When done, exit the browser window. Look for the downloaded file and open it. Run the installation. If prompted, reboot your computer. When done, look for the F.B. Purity shortcut on your desktop and open it.

For example, if you are using Mozilla Firefox, open it. Click the Tools tab and navigate to User Agent Switcher> Internet Explorer> Internet Explorer 6 or 7. That's it! Now open Facebook and log in to your profile. You will no longer see Facebook timeline (if you were switched over to timeline before). It will just remain the old profile format for your Facebook profile. This will also do for the profile formats of your Facebook friends. You will see them in the old format.

If anytime you want to restore the Facebook timeline format, click Tools and navigate to User Agent Switcher and point to Default User Agent. You will start seeing the timeline format. Instead of this you can also disable the User Agent Switcher by clicking it. When done, open Facebook and log back into your account. You will see the timeline format.

Additional Tips:

Remember, if Facebook makes upgrading to timeline mandatory, even this type of tool cannot help you revert to the old profile. So, get used to timeline and wait for Facebook to scrap it.

Do you know the meaning of "I LOVE YOU"

Do you know the meaning of I LOVE YOU, I love You word using in different sector

How to Maximize Facebook Timeline for Your Business Page

Ok, Ok, I know that Timeline looks a little bit like a scrap book your grandmother had in her spare bedroom. Filled with family photo's, recipes, and old letters (remember when we use to actually send those things). I also know that it's a little confusing and quite a bit different then the traditional Facebook Profile Lay-out. Many of us are lost trying to figuring out which post came before which video and so on. Not to mention that it has completely confused the Facebook Stalkers who only use the site to look at other people's photo's and videos!

So knowing all of this, why am I so Hyped and pumped that there will be more Timelines taking over Facebook? Let's break it down, from a business perspective.

First of all, we'll all laugh in a year from now (as our eyes have adjusted to viewing only Timeline pages) when we look back at what Facebook use to look like. I firmly believe that much of the resistance to Timeline is simply people resistance to embrace change, but the fact is that change is hard to live with and impossible to live without, we just have to accept it and adjust to it! So knowing this I'm not worried about the scrap book looking design, we'll all get use to it soon enough.

What excites me are two HUGE benefits to Timeline!! the cover image, and the story telling ability.

Let's start with the cover image. People pay big money for a banner image half the size of what Facebook is giving us with this banner image. This is prime real estate to display the products that you sell, your store front, your address and phone number, or a collage of images from your business. Business pages currently have 5 banner images, that are thumbnail size, and you have to constantly be managing your images every time you upload a new photo to your page (seriously, this is a pain in the A$$ if you upload a lot of photo's). Just from a maintenance point this change will be a relief and a major time saver! I love the cover image, it can also be interchangeable, so you can have 5 different ones made, and occasionally change your cover image to keep your page looking fresh!

Now, let's get down to the meat and potatoes, the story telling ability!!

One of the most powerful components to a successful brand is the creation story of the company. How Richard Branson started Virgin Airlines goes a little something like this:

His flight was delayed to mechanical issue with the plane. He was where none of us ever want to be, trapped in a small airport, with no word on how long the flight will be delayed, no alternate flights, no beds, Airport bars are closed, just stuck sitting in those uncomfortable chairs with his feet extended and rested on his carry-on luggage. this is where most of us would have camped and just let the airlines have their dominant way with us. But Richard is different, he is progressive, active, and entrepreneurial! Knowing that he had a long time until the plane would leave, he walked down the hallway, out of the doors and into a completely different section of the Airport. Back in those days many smaller airports had a separate wing for private planes. Richard poked around that hanger, looking for a pilot with a working plane. It didn't take long until he found a pilot with a larger plane designed for chartering flights. he got a price quote, thanked the man, said he would be back, and waked back into the terminal where his co-passengers had been grumbling about. With his entrepreneurial spirit at full strength he made a quick calculation of the number of seats and the price to charter the plane. Next he grabbed a piece of paper and a pen and wrote "Private chartered flight" with the price under it. Within 30 minutes he filled the private plane and was airborne!!!!

What an amazing story, and to know that at that moment the concept for Virgin Airlines was born!!!

Just hearing that story brings you closer to the brand of Virgin and how it makes you feel to fly with them. Now imagine if you could not only hear that story, but see images of a young Richard Branson holding up that sign. see status updates of the passengers flying in the plane. See who was tagged in the flight. Then see a video of the plane landing!!

Timeline can bring your businesses creation story to life with Video and photo!! Making it real time and personable!! You could then Chronicle the mishaps, journey, and success of your brand as it grows!!!

Don't think that this is only capable for a big brand like Virgin. Your businesses creation story is important too!! And you have a story, everyone has a story of how their business got created.

Timeline will also be great for the present, and the future. Start to be consistent in adding photo's of major events in your business. Tag customers and add photo's constantly, so your story is being told!!!

this is an amazing opportunity, Jump on board and embrace the change!!!!!
