Walkera 4G6S - Let's Fly a Mini

Walkera is a well-known name among the RC industry and the company offers a number of fun miniaturized toys for the "older" kids to play with. Technology has been revamping a number of the RC products and the helicopter is one of them. The Walkera 4G6S is one of these little wonders.

Not only is the Walkera 4G6S an advancement in technology, but it is part of the Walkera helicopter mini series. It's a 2.4 GHz edition that has an integrative mainframe, main rotor blades (metal) and tail rotor blades set. The cool transmitter has a black and white checked design with a backlit LED screen display to give you current reading on your flying.

This cool copter is perfect for indoor flights. Although it looks like a full-sized Walkera helicopter, its small size gives the bigger version a run for its money. The dimensions are 19.2 x 8.3 x 19.7mm and weighs 88g with an overall length of 290mm.

The shaft transmission has been designed to save up to 15% of power so it's much more efficient. This gives a 3.7V torque brushless motor more than enough power to perform various aerobatics in the air. With a perfect blend of balance provided by a 3-axis gyro auto balance system and a super voltage head locking system, the performance is up to you. Some other specs of the Walkera 4G6S are:

Main rotor diameter -258mm
Tail rotor diameter - 76mm
Transmitter - WK-2602
Receiver - RX-2610S

To provide the speed to keep flight inside, the brushless motor (WK-WS-12-005) and the brushless speed controller (a WK-WST-10A-L3) which are powered by 3.7V 600mAh Li-Po battery to give speed of 0.12sec/60degrees (3.0-4.5V) and torque of 0.12kg/cm (3.0-4.5V). In order to manipulate the 4F6S to do the stunts you want inside, you need to change the speed and torque ratios to work smoothly together. Otherwise, you'll run out of room and hit something before the maneuver has been completed.

This is a fun mini helicopter that Walkera has released. It can be flown outdoors, however, there should be minimal to no wind. You want to have fun and use the power for flying, not to fight the wind. The lightweight mini Walkera 4G6S can't compete with gusts of wind and you don't want to have unnecessary landings.

In regards to the receiver, each gyro gain channel can be turned off manually or switched from minimum to maximum based on your needs. The adjustments are extended by the built-in aileron and elevator servo. Walkera has ensured that with this receiver and the 3-axis gyro that any drifting is compensated automatically. That means more aerobatics for your helicopter and less stress on you when working the transmitter.

The cool looking transmitter has a 6 channel micro computer system on board for quick and precise movements between the transmitter and the receiver. The frequency is 2.4G spread spectrum with an outpower of <10mW. The current drain of <120mW; the output pulse is 1050-1850, neutral is at 1500, with the power source being 1.2VX8 NiCd (9.6V600mAh).

Take caution when flying indoors. Stay away from hanging light fixtures and ceiling fans. And don't chase the cat either. The Walkera 4G6S is a fun and cool mini-helicopter to fly indoors.
