Anna Kournikova - A Picture of Her Successful Tennis and Modeling Career
Anna Kournikova is a very successful semi-retired Russian tennis player. Although she was a highly talented and gifted tennis star, some people feel she was distracted by all the media attention to her, due to her outstanding natural beauty.
At one point she was one of the most searched for terms in the popular search engine Google Images. She had many fans throughout the world, not just wanting to see pictures of Anna Kournikova but also to watch her play tennis, as she was after all a highly talented professional tennis star.
Although Anna is currently just 26 years of age (she was born in Moscow in 1981), she is actually a semi-retired tennis player and model. Many ex tennis players and critics feel that she quit the game at a far too early point in her career, but others feel that she was always destined to be more of a star on the catwalk then on the tennis courts. Kournikova also complained of having various back and spinal problems, which is obviously another important factor in her deciding to retire from the game.
Anna Kournikova did have some success at playing the singles game at tennis, but it was at playing doubles that she gained most of her recognition. Anna would partner with tennis star Martina Hingis, and they went on to claim various grand-slam titles together.
Although Anna only occasionally plays tennis, appearing in exhibitions for the 'St. Louis Aces' of 'World Team Tennis', she does still appear in various modeling shoots/other publications. A few years ago she appeared in her boyfriend Enrique Iglesias' music video for his hit single 'Escape'.
